About This clinical research study

Clinical trials are research projects, performed as a way of bringing about progress in medicine and research. Clinical research projects make it possible to scientifically assess the properties of a study medication, to demonstrate the effectiveness and safety of a treatment or a medical device, or to learn more about a disease and methods to diagnose and monitor it.

Here at MAC, we are looking for people who would like to take part in clinical trials researching potential new treatments for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

PTSD is a mental health issue that develops after a traumatic event and continues for a minimum of four weeks following the event. It can lead to avoidance of situations, sights, sounds and smells that trigger a return to the stressful event (for example, people may suffer panic attacks) which can affect work, personal and social lives. If you have PTSD then you are not alone as around one in twenty people will also have had it.

If you have PTSD, you may be eligible to participate in one of our upcoming clinical trials.

Reimbursement: £1570

A full description of the clinical trial will be given before you decide to take part, during an appointment at a MAC clinic. This will include you receiving the patient information sheet and an opportunity to ask the clinical research doctor any questions.

There is no obligation to take part in a clinical trial and you are free to withdraw at any time.

By taking part in a clinical trial, you may be helping in the development of pioneering new treatments that may help improve the quality of life for people with PTSD.
