About This clinical research study

Clinical trials are research projects, performed as a way of bringing about progress in medicine and research. Clinical research projects make it possible to scientifically assess the properties of a study medication, to demonstrate the effectiveness and safety of a treatment or a medical device, or to learn more about a disease and methods to diagnose and monitor it.

Here at MAC, we are looking for people who would like to take part in clinical trials researching potential new treatments for Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD).

SAD is a mental health condition that causes an overwhelming fear of social situations, which can affect work, personal and social lives. If you have symptoms of SAD, then you are not alone as around one in ten people are also thought to be affected by it.

Males and Females aged 18 - 65

A full description of the clinical trial will be given before you decide to take part, during an appointment at a MAC clinic. This will include you receiving the patient information sheet and an opportunity to ask the clinical research doctor any questions.

There is no obligation to take part in a clinical trial and you are free to withdraw at any time.

If you have a symptoms of Social Anxiety, you may be eligible to participate in one of our upcoming clinical trials.

By taking part in a clinical trial, you may be helping in the development of pioneering new treatments that may help improve the quality of life for people with SAD.

More information will be available on the clinical trial once approval of the research is granted by the regulatory bodies in the UK.
