At MAC Clinical Research, we believe that patients and volunteers are more than just participants – they are our partners in every step of the research process. Their experiences, insights, and willingness to be involved drive us to make progress and improve the future of healthcare.
We are proud to work with a wide range of communities across the UK and globally, helping us to find diverse participants and create research that truly reflects the needs of everyone.
Our team is dedicated to ensuring that you feel informed and supported at every stage, from initial outreach from our Patient Liaison team to enrolment and beyond. We want you to feel like a valued member of the research process.
Collaborating with Communities
We know that every person is unique, and the way we engage with different communities matters. That’s why we work closely with advocacy groups like Diabetes UK, the Sickle Cell Society, and the Alzheimer’s Society. Their feedback has been essential in shaping materials and messages that truly connect with you and your community. These partnerships help ensure that our communication is relevant, respectful, and impactful.
One of the projects we’re especially proud of is our collaboration with Autizma preparing for a potential clinical trial for social anxiety disorder in autistic people. Their insights have helped us make key changes to how we conduct trials, from the lighting in the clinic to the way our staff interact with participants. These small adjustments can make a huge difference in creating a comfortable and stress-free environment, making sure you feel supported throughout your time with us.
Creating a Supportive Environment for All
We’re also passionate about supporting people living with dementia. As long-time advocates for Dementia Friends, we are creating a dementia reference group to help us better understand the needs and experiences of people with dementia. This group will provide invaluable insights into what can make it easier for people to take part in research. In addition, we’re committed to becoming a “Dementia Friendly” organisation by training our staff to be more understanding and compassionate, ensuring we create a more inclusive and accessible research experience.
Listening to Your Voice
At MAC, we’re not just focused on individual clinical trials – we’re committed to building trust within local communities. From the very beginning of a trial, we work closely with local doctors’ surgeries, community hubs, and advocacy groups to make sure we’re listening to your concerns and addressing any questions. Our Central Relations Strategists play an important role here, connecting research teams with the communities they serve, helping to create transparency and foster trust.
Why We Do What We Do
What makes our work truly rewarding is the knowledge that every conversation, every collaboration, and every change we make helps us design research that better reflects your needs and experiences. Your input helps us create a better, more inclusive healthcare future.
At MAC, we are dedicated to making research inclusive, accessible, and meaningful for you – the people who make it all possible. Your voice shapes our work, and your experience reminds us why we do what we do.
