Volunteers Needed for a Landmark Ibogaine Study

About This clinical research study
The purpose of this study is to test a psychoactive medication called lbogaine.
lbogaine is being researched as a potential addiction treatment.
Healthy volunteers are needed to learn more about the drug before it is tested
in patients diagnosed with an opioid addiction.

Males and Females aged 21 - 55
Following a successful medical screen and upon review of medical history, a minimum of 30 volunteers who have tried a hallucinogen will take a single oral dose of Ibogaine in a clinical setting and stay for 6 nights in the clinic.
You will attend 4 screening visits to qualify for the study. After treatment you will attend 4 brief out-patient visits at the MAC Greater Manchester Clinic.
Your involvement in the study will be completed within 2 months.
Key Inclusion Criteria
- Males and Females (post-menopausal or surgically sterile)
- Age 21 - 55
- Normal Weight
- Past recreational drug use including hallucinogens (MDMA, LSD or Psilocybin)
Key Exclusion Criteria
- Dependency on drug (excluding caffeine) or alcohol
- History of seizures or convulsions
- History of heart disease or current hypertension meds
- Heavy smokers or vapers
- Current or ongoing COVID-19 infection or long COVID syndrome

If you are eligible you will receive a comprehensive health screen. Your GP will be fully informed of your participation and provided with any information relevant to your healthcare.

A full description of the study will be given before you decide to take part, both over the phone and during an appointment at a MAC clinic. This will include you receiving the full patient information sheet (PIS) and the opportunity to discuss the study.
