About This clinical research study

Clinical trials are research projects, performed as a way of bringing about progress in medicine and research. Clinical research projects make it possible to scientifically assess the properties of a study medication, to demonstrate the effectiveness and safety of a treatment or a medical device, or to learn more about a disease and methods to diagnose and monitor it.

Here at MAC we are looking for people who would like to take part in clinical trials researching potential new treatments for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, or COPD, is a group of lung diseases including emphysematous lung disease (pulmonary emphysema) and chronic bronchitis. COPD symptoms include COPD wheezing, COPD cough, persistent chest infection and chronic breathing issues. Without treatment it is a chronic and progressive lung disease. There are times when symptoms suddenly worsen, known as COPD exacerbation or COPD flare up. Chronic obstructive pulmonary treatment usually includes inhalers, most commonly LABA, LAMA or ICS inhalers. COPD and smoking are strongly linked, quitting smoking or vaping can help slow chronic pulmonary disease symptoms.

Reimbursement: You may be compensated up to £2,425 for your time and commitment plus reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed or transport provided.
