About This clinical research study

Clinical research trials are performed as a way of bringing about progress in medicine and research. Clinical research projects make it possible to scientifically assess the properties of a new medication, to demonstrate the effectiveness and safety of a treatment, or to learn more about a disease and methods to diagnose and monitor it.

There is an unmet need for new and improved treatments to help those living with Parkinson’s disease. Many people do not respond appropriately or suffer side-effects from current approved medications. As you will know, there are not yet any approved drugs that exist to slow the progression of Parkinson’s.

This study drug, called KP405, is being developed in the hope of providing a new treatment by protecting the dopamine-producing cells from becoming damaged, so that they can continue to produce dopamine and slow down or stop the progression of the disease.
