About This clinical research study

Clinical trials are research projects, performed as a way of bringing about progress in medicine and research. Clinical research projects make it possible to scientifically assess the properties of a study medication, to demonstrate the effectiveness and safety of a treatment or a medical device, or to learn more about a disease and methods to diagnose and monitor it.

Here at MAC we are looking for people who would like to take part in clinical trials researching potential new treatments for Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) and Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI).

AD is the most common type of dementia; a group of progressive neurological diseases affecting multiple brain functions, including memory, thinking, language, orientation, judgement and social behaviour. MCI, where someone begins to have noticeable issues around memory or thinking, is often an early indication of Alzheimer’s but can be caused by other health problems. Diagnosing AD can often take time and usually requires multiple assessments to rule out other causes before a definite cause can be established.

If you have Alzheimer’s or MCI, with no other cause being known, you may be eligible to participate in an upcoming clinical trial.

Reimbursement: You may be compensated for your time and commitment plus reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed or transport provided.
