Post-Menopause

About This clinical research study

Here at MAC Clinical Research we are conducting a trial to test an investigational medication for symptoms in post-menopausal women. Post-menopausal symptoms include hot flushes/flashes which are episodes of flushing, sweating, and intense heat sensation. There are few good treatment options currently available. HRT is effective but may have unwelcome side effects. Current non-hormonal options often provide unsatisfactory symptom relief therefore there is a need to find new, improved treatments that may provide relief for women with post-menopausal symptoms.

The purpose of this study is to investigate efficacy and safety of the study drug which is a non-hormonal drug that acts on a part of the brain that regulates temperature. The study drug may provide rapid relief of hot flushes, thereby improving sleep, and potentially providing a better general quality-of-life.

ABOUT CLINICAL RESEARCH STUDIES

Clinical research studies are performed as a way of bringing about progress in medicine and research. Clinical research studies make it possible to scientifically assess the properties of a drug, to demonstrate the effectiveness and safety of a treatment or a medical device, or to learn more about a disease and methods to diagnose and monitor it.

If the study is successful, it may be an important step towards developing a promising new treatment.

MAC Clinical Research is currently conducting a new clinical research study for Post-Menopausal females.
